Macbeth
England. The
court of the English King, King Edward.
Enter Malcolm and Macduff. You’ve
told me many things. Should I believe
you? I tyrant, foul Macbeth,
was once thought honest. He may have
sent you here to spy on me, to learn my thoughts.
Macduff: You must believe me. I am not a traitor. Malcolm: And I have many doubts. Why did you leave the once you love in danger?
My
own safety may depend on you. I must be
careful.
Ross to Macduff.
Then know this, noble thane. The
tyrant now has enemies, but yet his power is strong. You are needed, noble thane, in
Scotland. The victory would be
ours! That is great news. I wish that mine were good. But I have words to say that fill my heart
with pain…
Macduff: all that I ask of Heaven is that one day
soon. I’ll meet The tyrant King and kill
him with my sword. Malcolm: that’s what
I need to hear. All things are
ready. The angelic powers of Heaven are
prepared to help us. The time has
come. The longest night will always end
in day.
